Tuition and Fees

 

Tuition 2010/ 2011: $17,500

  • Tuition fees include: meals and lodging, additional overseas transportation, overseas domestic flights, museum and national park fees, most recreational activities, and academic instruction.
  • Book and computer fee: $400
  • Travel to and from the international destination is not included in the program tuition.
  • Scholarships and fundraising opportunities available.

 

ADDITIONAL FEES:

  • Application Fee: $50
  • Enrollment Deposit: $1,000. Non-refundable. Due 30-days after acceptance. First payment toward tuition.
  • Full tuition due or required enrollment with The Traveling School’s Monthly Tuition Management Plan prior to the start date of each semester.

    Fall Semester 2010: South-Eastern Africa
    Spring Semester 2011: Central America

 

  • 2011/ 2012 School Year:
    Fall Semester 2011: South-Western Africa
    Spring Semester 2011: South America & Galapagos

 

  • 2012/ 2013 School Year:
    Fall Semester 2012: South-Eastern Africa
    Spring Semester 2013: Central America

     

Payment Deadlines
Upon your enrollment, The Traveling School will request a $1,000 Enrollment Deposit to reserve your place.  This is the first payment towards your tuition. The Traveling School will send an invoice for the balance of the program tuition.  You have the option of paying in full, or paying monthly using our Tuition Management Plan.  Your family must be fully paid, or be enrolled in the Tuition Management Plan, before your daughter’s departure.

Payment deadlines are July 15 for fall departures and November 15 for spring departures.

 

Withdrawals and Refunds
If you find you cannot go, you must notify The Traveling School in writing. The amount of your refund is based on the date we receive written notice of your withdrawal.  Please refer to the Tuition Calendar for details.

Students who cancel from the program at any time will be able to roll the  application fee over to the next program year.

 

Cancellation Policies
If you cancel or leave a program for any reason once the semester has started, there will be no refunds. There are no refunds for students who have been expelled.

 

Student Behavior and Discipline
The Traveling School will expel any student who demonstrates unsafe, disruptive or disrespectful behavior.  The instructors on the program have sole discretion to evaluate conduct that distracts from the educational mission of the program.  The use of drugs and/ or alcohol, theft or abuse of property, harassment, cheating, lack of respect for others, and low motivation regarding schoolwork are examples of conduct that may lead to expulsion. If a student is expelled there will be no refund.

 

Injury or Illness
The Traveling School has the sole discretion to send a participant back to the United States in a rare case of serious illness or injury during the semester.  For illness or injury, our home office and instructors will work together with local health professionals and a student’s parents to ensure the best course of action. If a student leaves a program mid-semester, The Traveling School will work with individual cases to evaluate academic credit.
