South America

Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Peru and Bolivia:

  • Be immersed in colorful indigenous cultures and the post-colonial heritage set high within the cloud –skirted Andes Mountains.
  • Snorkel in the turquoise waters of the Galapagos Islands and swim with animals relaxing without threat from any predator.
  • Hear the screaming and crashing of untamed wildlife in the unpredictable and outrageous Amazon jungle.
  • Hike through dramatic mountainous landscapes and travel high through the Andes jagged peaks and deep river valleys.
  • Participate in service projects generated by local communities who truly embrace the spirit of working hard, sharing their kinship, and generating a sense of cooperation and accomplishment.
  • This semester is for you if you like: mountains, color, hiking, rugged terrain, community interaction, villages, Spanish, art, children, altitude, and cooperative spirit.

“My semesters at The Traveling School were some of the most amazing times in my life.  I learned so much about myself and my own culture through living in and studying the cultures of South America and Southern Africa.  I really matured on my semesters away and when I returned, my relationships with my friends and family were even stronger.”
