Our Relationship to the Sending School

It is our goal that your semester with The Traveling School is a successful academic endeavor. At The Traveling School, we work individually with applicants and their sending home high schools to ensure that you are pre-approved to receive academic credit for your semester.

The courses at The Traveling School are not the same as the courses offered by your home high school.  Instead, they are academically rigorous courses to inspire you about learning and your environment. The courses usually dovetail with the traditional curriculum taught at your home high school.  This is why we work individually with your counselor and home high school to make this semester successful for you.

“The academics were better than any…learning poetry as we stood on huge mountain peaks, and studying science as we sat on a glacier! Plus, the personal attention from each teacher was amazing. Teachers were not only our leaders, but they were also good friends. The overall experience was incredible and it definitely helped with the transition from high school to college.” Caroline, Vermont, age 18
